2026 Spring Running Program
The Spring Running Program will be led again this year by Kristyn Tramel. Kristyn has been a competitive runner since High School. She participated in Ski Team in college, is an IronMan finisher and currently a Director for Special Olympics Louisiana. Kristyn is a Clinical Audiologist, and lives in mid-city with her husband, son and great dane, Bluey. Kristyn brings a passion for inclusion to our program and hopes even the most resistant of runners will find the joy in being part of a team.
If your child is interested in participating in the Spring Running Program, registration is open for boys and girls aged 7-13 as of December 31, 2025. The program will begin February 5th, culminating in a 2 mile fun run mid April. Training sessions will take place Monday and Thursdays 4:30-5:30pm on the Fly. Practices will consist of gradually building cross-country style running workouts, and many running and movement games. Space is limited, so the program may fill up fast.
We kindly ask that you consider volunteering to be a coach, with guidance from Kristyn, who will have a prepared curriculum for each age group. We are also looking for sponsors for the program. When registering, you can answer "yes" to the coach or sponsor questions, and Kristyn will follow up with you.
