CARROLLTON LACROSSE

2022 SPRING LACROSSE - Registration open now!

I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the Holiday Season!

We had a successful Fall Clinic Session and I am happy to inform everyone that our 2022 Carrollton Spring Lacrosse Season is now available for registration. This Spring we will be offering lacrosse for ages 5-14 (as of August 31, 2021) at Carrollton starting in mid-January 2022. For registration this year we will need the following:

Child’s Full Name, Birthdate, Current School, Jersey and Short Sizes, High School Graduation Year, U.S. Lacrosse number.  Please know that to participate in the 9-14 age group you must have a registered US Lacrosse number. The children in the Flex6 Program do not need a U.S. Lacrosse number to participate.

Please see the following link for membership to US Lacrosse:

New to 2022!

Flex 6 Format: Ages 5-8 Year-Old Only: This non-contact option is for boys and girls ages 5-8 and only requires a lacrosse stick and a mouthpiece. This is a great way to learn the sport as your child will be exposed to the basic elements such as throwing, cradling and catching with the lacrosse stick. For the Spring, please know that we will be offering this option on Monday evenings. In order to include as many children as possible, and to expand this program to more nights, we need volunteer coaches and assistant coaches for each team.  No experience is necessary!  We will hold a coach’s clinic about a week before the season starts to give you all the skills, drills, and strategies you will need to know.  If you are interested in coaching this age group, please say 'YES' when you are completing registration so that we can follow up with you.

U10/U12/U14: We will use the early weeks of the season for conditioning and to work on stick skills as we move quickly toward games. In these age groups full pads are required, and players will need to come equipped with the below to participate. We will separate these groups by their High School graduation year as that is what is being required by US Lacrosse. For the U14’s, we are only accepting players in graduation years 2026 & 2027.
Lacrosse Stick, Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Arm Pads, Gloves, Mouthpiece and Protective Cup.

For those that are new to this level, we will have local games but we will also travel competitively and participate in advanced events in Lafayette, Gulfport and on the Northshore throughout the season. The good news is that our season schedule has been confirmed and it has the kids playing a lot of lacrosse! Once your registration is complete your league coordinators will reach to let you know the full 2022 schedule!

Finally, I wanted to mention that I am excited to start a new term as Lacrosse Commissioner and very thankful for Carrollton Boosters continued support of our program. Like many, I started playing lacrosse at a very young age through recreation-based programs that were available in my hometown of Baltimore, MD. Those early years of understanding how the game was played proved to be pivotal in being able to play lacrosse collegiately. As our program evolves, our coaching commitment is to continue to develop the younger ages in our Flex6 program so that we can enjoy a strong recreational lacrosse program at Carrollton for many years to come.

Thank you for your participation and we look forward to seeing everyone out at Avenger in 2022!
