Hello Carrollton families, Carrollton Boosters is excited to announce the upcoming flag football season this Fall!
Cost: Our registration cost will remain the same. Cost is $95 for the first child and $70 for each additional child. Carrollton, with our volunteer coaches, can continue to provide a great product at this price. Any surplus is invested in our facilities and scholarship program.
Structure: Carrollton flag football will continue in the format you have come to expect, consistent with Carrollton Boosters’ philosophy. Games in our competitive leagues will continue to take place on Saturday mornings. Games in the non-competitive 5/6 league will continue to take place on Monday evenings. Field layouts may or may not change slightly. We do not plan to change many rules but will welcome ideas and suggestions. Uniforms will once again be dry fit and high quality, and all new flags will be purchased for this season.
Why is FNA at Avenger Field: We have received several questions regarding the FNA flag football league offering an option at Avenger Field option and whether Carrollton will continue to offer flag football. The answer is YES! Carrollton will continue with its flag football program. Carrollton Boosters worked with the City to make the FNA league work in Uptown. That said, we are not merging or combining our league with FNA in any way. Carrollton Boosters will continue to run its own separate league and we would like to take this opportunity to clarify some of the differences.
Differences Between Carrollton and FNA:
· Carrollton Boosters is a nonprofit organization
· FNA is not affiliated with Carrollton Boosters. There is a price difference between the FNA and Carrollton products
· FNA takes place on Friday nights. Carrollton games are held on Saturdays (except the 5/6 league on Mondays)
· FNA does not conduct a draft, rather it allows teams to form in advance and continue together from season to season
· Carrollton will host a grading session that will be quick/easy and teams will be selected using a draft. While drafts are never perfect, we strive for parity staying consistent with our mission to be the best recreational playground in the City.
Carrollton Boosters exists as a recreational park dedicated to the betterment of kids. Our program has been here for decades, and will be for decades to come. We are excited about the upcoming flag football season at Carrollton and look forward to seeing you on the field.

After five successful seasons, we are pleased to once again offer Flag Football, for children who are 5-13 years old as of April 30, 2019. The leagues will be defined similarly to the way they were defined for this past baseball season: 5-6 year olds, 7-8 year olds, 9-10 year olds, and 11-13 year olds. Teams will be co-ed, but are usually comprised of mostly boys.
Games will be played on Avenger Field (next to Children’s Hospital) on Saturdays for most leagues, and on Monday evenings for the 5/6 year old league. The league is designed to offer a low-effort (for parents) activity during the busy back-to-school months.
Players will be drafted onto teams and will be issued a team shirt at the first game. They should also wear dark shorts without pockets, and can wear either cleats or tennis shoes. No other equipment is required.

You may pay on line by credit card or you may choose the option to send a check, but note that your registration is not considered complete until fees are paid. Players who are not registered will not be graded or drafted onto teams.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Some leagues will inevitably fill up, so we urge you to register your children as soon as possible.
Please note that, while we will allow children to be registered for both soccer and flag football, there could be game conflicts between the two sports. As we get closer to forming teams and preparing schedules, we will be able to assist you in making an informed decision. Registration fees are fully refundable up until teams are drafted.

Coaching is an excellent way to not only develop a greater appreciation for flag football, but to also form a special bond with your son or daughter as the season progresses. If you are interested in being a coach, simply answer “yes” to the question when registering, then also register yourself as a volunteer coach, and we will contact you.
When registering, please also consider making a tax-deductible contribution to our Capital Fund at "checkout". Contributions to this fund are used for continued additions and improvements to our fields and facilities.
PRE-SEASON SKILLS CLINIC
Carrollton is pleased to announce its second annual Flag Football Skills Clinic for players registering in the 5/6, 7/8, and 9/10 flag football leagues at Carrollton this fall. The clinic will be held on Saturday morning, August 24, from 8:30-10:00 for 5/6's, and from 10:00-12:00 for 7/8's and 9/10's, on Avenger Field.
Participants will work on improving their agility and skills while focusing on the fundamentals of the game on both sides of the ball, including a variety of core components of pass patterns, pass coverage, catching, blocking, deflagging (tackling), hand-offs and pitches.
Because there are limited opportunities to practice during the flag football season, this clinic is an excellent opportunity to prepare for league play.
The clinic will be run by past championship winning coaches for Carrollton Flag Football and by Pat Adams, coach of the Carrollton Select 12U team, and proceeds will benefit "Carrollton to Cooperstown 2020".
