Spring Soccer Update
Spring Soccer schedules now posted on the download page
Teams have now been picked in all leagues, and you should have heard from your child’s coach by now. We are still accepting registrations in our U-6 (under 6) coed league, and may have a few openings in our older leagues. We suggest you register as soon as possible, and we will either add your child to a team or he/she will be placed on the Waiting List.
Soccer Games will start the weekend of Jan 27-28. The U-10 schedule is now posted; other schedules will be issued soon. We recently leveled Field 5, the field where our U-6’s traditionally play most of their games, but unfortunately the field has not yet fully recovered. Therefore, we’ve had to shift some things around a bit, and will only schedule the first couple of weeks’ games for now. Once the field has completely recovered, we will be able to schedule the remainder of the games more efficiently. Participants in the U-6 league should look for the fields lined in blue paint on the Olive St. side of the ballpark.
For those of you who have children registered in our Friday training clinics, the clinics will begin this week, January 27, and run through March 23, skipping February 17 (Mardi Gras weekend). Players registered in our U-6 league should come at 5:30; players registered in U-8 or U-10 leagues should come at 6:30. Walk-ups will be accepted, for a fee of $10 per session, or $50 for the season. Players should bring an appropriately sized ball (#3 for U-6 and U-8; #4 for U-10), and should wear shin guards and soccer socks, and either soccer cleats or tennis shoes. Note that U-10 players will sometimes have a game conflict on Friday evenings and are expected to play in their team's game on such occasions.
The concession stand will be open during the Friday clinics, so plan to stay and enjoy the evenings with us at Carrollton.

Flagpole
Baseball is known as "America's Pastime." There is a strong association between the game and our nation. Many of us have childhood memories of singing the National Anthem before Major League games and perhaps even before our own games. We would like to bring that experience to Carrollton Boosters. Our goal is to raise/solicit money and services to install a large pole, viewable from every field, and arrange for a sound system at each diamond for Opening Day 2012. If you have any interest or ideas, please contact Dan Plunkett (504-701-4167) or Norman Mott (504-866-1329). Together, we can continue this grand tradition for our children and grandchildren.
