5/6 Baseball

This is a boy’s baseball league with fundamental play encouraged. Kids will get 5 coach pitched balls to hit and then hit from the tee if contact isn’t made. Multiple coaches in the field encourage the correct play. Players are beginning to be introduced to additional baseball rules and concepts, such as outs. This is a non-competitive league for the most part, with no score or standings kept. In some years, there may be a tournament at the end of the season, schedule permitting, to introduce players to slightly more competitive rules.
There is no pre-season grading and coaches select players for their team via a draft. As all Carrollton teams are selected via a draft, we cannot ensure friends or classmates will be on the same team. Siblings will be placed on the same team unless otherwise requested.

The ball used in this league is an Incrediball – it looks exactly like a baseball but just isn’t as hard. Players may use any bat that carries a USSSA or USABat certification.

Carrollton provides a team hat and shirt and access to helmets and bats.

I am proud to have Matt Woolf and Wes Cannon, whose contact information is on this blog page, assist in coordinating this league. Should you have any questions, please contact Matt, Wes or myself, and we will be happy to assist.
