2012 FAQs

Parents:

We are about ready to kick-off the 2012 four-year old T-ball season and we are very excited about the large amount of participation. We anticipate having the draft on May 1st and the games will begin the week of May 7th. We also anticipate the season ending around the end of June. After the draft your respective coach will contact you about team information and scheduling.

Below is a nice list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) that I have shamelessly stolen from last year’s coordinator.

1. Can I be on the team with my child’s friend?
We try to accommodate these requests, but we cannot always do it. I promise you will make many new friends this summer, and, frankly, this is one of the most wonderful parts of the Carrollton Boosters experience. We have a record number of kids participating this year, so this age group promises to be a great group for many years to come.
2. When are the games?
A lot are on Saturday mornings and some weekday evenings. We have twelve teams and play a league schedule, so the weekdays and times will differ. Alan Godchaux, our registrar, works mathematical wonders to make the schedule fit! We bat every child on the team, so it is not as disruptive if a child has to miss a game or two.
3. What equipment do I need?
You need a glove. It would also be helpful to get a bat and a batting helmet. The league provides a few batting helmets and a few bats, but you may want your own. Every batter on the field must wear a helmet. Your registration fee includes a jersey and cap, which is the uniform. Regular athletic shoes are fine; cleats are not necessary.
4. Do you need any more helpers?
Yes! We have recruited 12 great coaches and 12 generous sponsors, but they will need lots of help on the field and in the dugout. If you do help out, we request that you wait to have that beer until after the game. There is no alcohol on the field or in the dugout. We are serious about that rule, and I hope you can understand why. Your child's safety and well being are paramount.
5. This is my child's first year. Do I need to do anything to prepare?
No. Everyone is new to t-ball in this league. Just show up, be enthusiastic and enjoy the summer!

If anyone has additional questions please feel free to email or call. We are looking forward to a fun summer at the park!
